Four adults are suspected of overdosing on drugs in a Sydney home overnight, while three children slept.

Two men and two women aged between 28 and 35 were found in the Ropes Crossing home at around 4am on Sunday (local time).

Police say three children, all under 10 years old, were at the home at the time and appeared to have slept through the incident.

The children have been put in the care of relatives while the adults were treated at the scene.

It's suspected those at the residence had taken ecstasy, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Local police are investigating the incident.
