A Kansas doctor claims he has invented a 'revolutionary solution' to periods, with a product designed to glue the labia shut to prevent menstrual flow.

Dr Dan Dopps has come up with 'The Mensez Adhesive Vaginal Lipstick', which is terrifying the internet.

He describes his handiwork as a "natural combination of amino acids and oils in a lipstick applicator" designed to be applied to the labia minora, so that they 'stick together, strong enough to prevent leakage.'

The Mensez Facebook page has been removed, but the website is still running, where Dr Dopps has written a description of the "new, natural approach to feminine health".

"When applied to the labia minora, it creates a temporary seal to retain menstrual fluids inside until urination.

"Mensez is based on the theory of makeup or oil on a mirror that doesn't wash off with water alone but with a window cleaner with ammonium it washes away easily. Urine has ammonium in it naturally and it releases the seal."

Incredibly, the product was granted a patent in January but judging by online comments, it's unclear if it will make it to the shelves.

Response to the newly patented product online has been strong, with many women outraged at the thought of having to glue their genitals to cease period flow.

One commenter responded to the doctor's claim that "periods befuddle women's minds" by stating "'I'd like to test a new product where I glue this guy's penis to his inner thigh so he doesn't get erections that might befuddle his mind".

"Even if this product wasn't ridiculous and actually worked, good luck trying to sell women a product by insulting their stability, their anatomy, and their intelligence," another commenter wrote.
