UK newspaper the Daily Mail has been slammed over its coverage of Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and UK Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit meeting.

Its headline read "Never mind Brexit, who won Legs-it!", and featured a photo of the two leaders sitting together while wearing skirts.

"It wasn't quite stilettos at dawn, but there was a distinctively frosty atmosphere when Theresa May met Nicola Sturgeon yesterday," the paper wrote.

The cover has been attacked on social media as "sexist", "dated" and "demeaning".

The Daily Mail hasn't commented on the backlash.
