A 12-year-old boy has been arrested after driving alone across the entire state of New South Wales.
The child was 1300 kilometres into his attempt to drive right across the country.
Police stopped the boy after seeing the vehicle's bumper dragging along the ground.
"Checks revealed the driver was a 12-year-old boy travelling from Kendall NSW on his way to Perth," a police spokesperson told 9 News.
The boy was taken to Broken Hill police station.
He had started his journey in Kendall, a small town on the south of Port Macquarie on the east coast of Australia. The child was arrested in Broken Hill, a city on the state border to South Australia.
The journey between Kendall and Broken Hill takes about 14 hours, but it's just a fraction of distance to Perth, which takes 43 hours of driving.
The journey to Perth would traverse the harsh Australian desert and cover more than 4000 kilometres. Advice for tourists looking to complete the trip is to set aside 10 days for the journey.
