Brawl breaks out after 'paedophile' confronted at mall

A large fight broke out at a shopping centre in Britain after a group of vigilante paedophile hunters confronted a man they believed was there to groom a 14-year-old for sex.

A video of the incident was livestreamed on Facebook to the group's 68,000 followers, and shows them challenging a 29-year-old man outside a mall in Kent.

The group, which refers to itself as The Hunted One, can be heard asking the man what he's doing there, to which he say "nothing" - but after further interrogation he breaks and admits he's there to meet a female.

After that admission, however, the man is then confronted on why he decided to meet with the girl when he knew having sexual relations with her would be deemed rape.

He denies knowing she was under-age, claiming he thought she was at least 18 - but the group then pull out printed sections of his social media conversations with the girl, in which she states explicitly that she is 14.

After a long conversation about his actions, one man who was surrounding the group then becomes agitated and lashes out at the suspect, standing on a ledge behind him and kicking him in the head.

He is taken away by mall security guards and other onlookers, but remains angry and continually yells out at the man, calling him a "f**king nonce". The alleged offender is then taken away by police.

Police have said they are investigating the man - but revealed they are also looking into the act of violence inflicted against him.

"Officers from Kent Police arrested a 29-year-old man from East London at Bluewater Shopping Centre on suspicion of grooming at 2.27pm on Sunday 16 April 2017," a Kent Police spokesperson said.

"I strongly discourage people taking the law into their own hands to avoid them and others including individuals which may have been wrongfully identified, being put in any danger."
