Girl falls out of bus, saved by off-duty firefighter

An American driver was in the right place at the right time after a young girl fell from the back of a moving bus.

Ryan Ciampoli's dashcam captured the moment the bus's door swung open, flinging the girl to the road on Highway 65 in Harrison, Arkansas.

The four-year-old was unconscious when Mr Ciampoli found her, so the off-duty firefighter put his first aid training to good use after pulling her to safety.

"The shock kicked in her little body and she started kicking and screaming," Mr Ciampoli told KHBS-TV.

"Stuff like that is really heartbreaking."

She has a broken jaw, but is expected to make a full recovery.
