A cop has taken over-achieving to a new level after getting married and saving a little girl's life - all on the same day.
Indiana police officer John O'Rourke was preparing to tie the knot on March 28, when he stopped in to grab some breakfast at - you guessed it - a donut shop.
When standing in line, he saw a crowd gathering around an unconscious three-year-old who was having a seizure, according to a statement on the Indiana University Police Department Facebook page.
"It had to be a donut shop," said Mr O'Rourke in the statement. "You can't make this up."
Mr O'Rourke instructed bystanders to call 911, while he began performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and chest compressions on the toddler. Paramedics arrived just as the girl regained consciousness.
Shop staff gave Mr O'Rourke a free box of donuts to express their gratitude for his actions. He was then married to his fiancé Virginia later that day.
