A British mother has been left overjoyed after she appeared to receive a supernatural sign from her dead son after visiting his grave.
Marie Robinson's four-year-old son Jack died on April 1, 2014 after a three-month battle with a brain tumour - leaving behind three sisters and his twin brother, Liam.
In the knowledge that the three-year anniversary of his death was approaching, Ms Robinson had been finding the week leading up to it hard-going - and after breaking down in her car, asked Jack for a sign he was there.
"Early Saturday morning I got in the car and said out loud, 'Jack, please show Mummy a sign', and thought I'll see him after I finished work," she told The Mirror.
"At 1pm I left work and walked up to his resting place. I was overcome with emotion and I sat on the grass next to Jack. With that a little robin kept flying around me trying to land on me, eventually landing on my foot - he didn't seem scared at all."
Ms Robinson explained she then pulled her phone out and started filming the bird as it flitted about Jack's grave and her body.
"He flew over and landed on my hand. He kept looking at me directly in my face and at one point he landed on my shoulder and nibbled me a couple of times," she said.
Ms Robinson said the moment "brought [her] to tears" and was convinced it was indeed a sign from her son - a view that may well be backed up by animal spirituality, which suggests if a bird follows you, it wants to be your guardian.
