If you're a fan of basketball sneakers and sushi, you'll be happy to know there's a chef in Italy who has combined his two loves by making sushi in the form of the world's most popular kicks.

After some sole-searching, Yujia Hu - a Chinese artist working in a Japanese restaurant in Milan, began his practice of shaping a mixture of rice and vinegar into shoes, before detailing them with sashimi and seaweed.

His 'shoe-shi' range includes classics from Nike, Adidas and Supreme. The first fishy footwear picture he shared on Instagram was a replica of Kanye's signature Yeezy Boost 350s.

Mr Hu has posted at least 21 shots of his creations, and is obviously a big basketball fan. His other sushi models include NBA players LeBron James, Tim Duncan and Demarcus Cousins.

It brings a whole new meaning to 'playing with your food'
