US police have seized 30kg of marijuana smuggled in a coffin in the back of a hearse close to a town called Tombstone.
And it was a dead easy catch for authorities, with the vehicle stopped trying to cross an immigration checkpoint in Arizona, US Customs and Border Protection says.
Willcox Border Patrol Agents noticed the white hearse travel south toward Tombstone on the way to the Mexican border on Saturday (local time).
They saw the same vehicle a few hours later heading north and turned west before reaching the checkpoint.
Officers conducted a routine immigration vehicle stop where they brought in a Border Patrol dog to "sniff" the vehicle.
A search found a number of bricks of marijuana worth more than US$33,000 (NZ$47,700).
The 28-year-old male driver was arrested.
