Aussie man on the run after Bali prison escape

An Australian man is one of a group who tunnelled their way out of a notorious Bali prison, and he's currently on the run.

Shaun Davidson was serving a one year jail sentence in Kerobokan prison, after being arrested by immigration officials for using another man's passport.

Davidson had just two months left of jail time remaining, and is a wanted man in Australia.

The 30-year-old escaped with three other men from Bulgaria, India and Malaysia, according to Reuters

The men are believed to have dug a hole under the prison wall into an old 12-metre-long tunnel.

Davidson had two months left of jail time to serve, Reuters reports.

He's also wanted in Perth, Australia for drug charges and reportedly left the country for Indonesia on the same day that he was due to appear court.

A search is underway to find the missing men.
