Previously unreleased CCTV footage has made its way to social media, showing the moment armed police officers killed three terrorists who launched a vicious attack on Londoners last week.

Three men - Khuram Butt, Rachid Redouane and Youssef Zaghba - drove into pedestrians on London Bridge on Saturday evening (local time) before stabbing passers-by with knives, killing eight.

In the footage, which was confirmed to be legitimate by the Metropolitan Police Service, a man can be seen fleeing one of the terrorists, who is swinging a knife at him. Meanwhile a chair appears to be thrown in the direction of the terrorist.

A police car then screeches into shot, with three armed policemen exiting and immediately trying to rescue the man by diverting his attackers' attention towards them.

One officer gets into a physical altercation with another of the terrorists, and they wrestle on the floor before the policeman hops up and raises his firearm towards him.

Another police car then arrives, and the other two terrorists can be seen getting shot - with all the action concluding in under 20 seconds.

Eight people died and 48 were injured in the attacks, including four unarmed policemen who had attempted to tackle the terrorists to the floor.
