A packed tourist boat has sunk in Colombia with 150 on board.
The multi-storey vessel was sailing in the Penol reservoir, Guatepe, in the country's northwest.
Firefighters and scuba divers have been deployed. Video uploaded by local news outlet RCN Radio showed other tourist and leisure boatsare scrambling to rescue people from the water.
Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said relief agencies and the government were ready to provide assistance.
The disaster response agency said around midday (NZ time) that nine were dead and 28 missing.
Survivors who made it to shore told local media the boat, El Almirante, appeared to be overloaded.
