You could be mistaken for thinking Barack Obama was running for US President again after his latest photo-op.

Alaskan mother Jolene Jackinsky was at the Anchorage International Airport on Monday looking for an airline when she wandered into the waiting area used for private flights.

Sitting there was a man who looked suspiciously like the former US President.

"As I got closer I thought, 'Oh my God, it is Obama,'" she told CBS News.

Mr Obama then approached Ms Jackinsky and her six-month-old baby, Giselle.

"Who is this pretty girl?" he asked.

The two chatted while Mr Obama carried little Giselle, who was dressed in a straw hat with a white ribbon.

Ms Jackinsky said Mr Obama told them he was heading home from an Alaskan vacation. She said Giselle was calm and relaxed for the short encounter.

"It was only five minutes but it was a moment that will last forever.

"I think it's unreal and pretty exciting that I get to have a picture with him and my baby. Not a lot of people get to meet him."
