A US couple who lost both of their young sons in a car crash two years ago have welcomed twin boys.

Hadley and Gentry Eddings, from North Carolina, welcomed their new babies Isaiah Dobbs and Amos Reed on Monday afternoon (local time).

Both of the babies' middle names are the names of the couple's sons who tragically die after a distracted truck driver rear-ended their minivan, New York Daily news reported.

Ms Eddings first announced her pregnancy in January on her Facebook page and asked everyone to add "two more Eddings" to their prayers.

"Y'all have held us up in prayer and we are so grateful!...We are expecting twins this summer!

Gentry Eddings is a campus pastor at a local church, while Hadley Eddings teaches 4-year-olds at a Primary school.

Reportedly both babies and their mother are doing well.
