A flight attendant on board an Emirates plane has been caught pouring what appears to be left over champagne back into the bottle.

Russian business class passenger Yevgeny Kayumov filmed the moment it happened on the flight to Dubai.

He posted it to Instagram with the caption: "I accidentally filmed this video, and didn't even notice this moment at the time, pouring unfinished champagne back into the bottle."

Mr Kayumov also tagged the airline in his post, asking: "Is that normal practice Emirates?"

Responses on his Instagram account and users on Reddit where the video was re-shared seem divided on what was happening.

"Maybe it could have been more elegant if this action is done in the galley instead of the open bar," one user replied to his post.

"But good for her and good for @emirates to have responsible crew like this lady," it continued.

Users on Reddit defended the flight attendant's actions, saying that she was securing the liquid in a container before disposing of it after take-off.

Flight attendants aren't allowed to dispose of the liquid while on the tarmac, they said.

Emirates did not see it this way however, responding to the incident.

A spokesperson said "Emirates always strives to provide the top quality service. Actions recorded on this video do not comply with our quality standards. We are currently investigating the incident."

One commenter on Reddit said he would never fly Emirates: "Because I'm poor, not because of whatever she's doing with the booze. Can I have that booze?"
