A mall in China may have solved one of the first world's most tedious chores for husbands and partners around the world after launching a "husband storage" facility.

The Global Harbour mall in Shanghai has opened up pod facilities for husbands to stay in while their wives and girlfriends shop.

According to the BBC, each pod has a chair, computer, television and gaming console for the disgruntled partners who don't want to be dragged carrying the loot picked up by their partners.

One man local media spoke to said, "[It is] really great. I've just played Tekken 3 and felt like I was back at school!"

So far, the pods are free but mall employees reportedly said in the future they plan to charge a small fee for the service.

Feedback has been encouraging after the pods release, one person saying, "[the pods] give these men an incentive to go shopping, and to pick up the bill."
