An Australian mother has been charged for attempting to poison her 7-year-old son almost three years ago, leaving him fighting for his life in hospital.
The child was hospitalised in Penrith, Australia with breathing problems in October 2014. He developed the life-threatening illness sepsis. After police were alerted, child abuse detectives began looking into the case.
After a three year investigation the 35-year-old mother was arrested last month and charged with using poison to endanger life. She is due to appear at Penrith Local Court on Tuesday, the Daily Mail reports.
The child was placed into alternative care after the incident.
