Anti-G20 protesters are causing havoc on the streets of Hamburg for a second night.
Nearly 200 police officers have been injured in clashes with the demonstrators, who have lit fires in the streets, smashed windows and looted shops.
Police are using water cannons and tear gas to bring them under control.
CNN's Fred Pleitgen is there, and describes it as "an extremely tense situation and an extremely violent situation that continues to flare up".
"And you have a lot of protests here in this country and it's been a long time since I've seen one as big and as violent as this."
More than 80 people have been arrested.
