One dead after car rams into Paris pizza restaurant

A teen girl has been killed and at least eight other people are injured after a driver rammed their vehicle into a pizza restaurant in Paris.

The incident occurred at an Italian eatery in the town of Sept-Sorts, Seine-et-Marne in the east of the city.

The driver was arrested soon after the incident on Monday night - and while he revealed it was a deliberate act, local police say it is not being treated as a terror attack.

RTL Radio reports that the man responsible, a 32-year-old Frenchman, has no previous criminal record.

The girl killed was just 13 years old.

The incident comes just a week after a vehicle rammed soldiers down in Paris, injuring six.
