A trainee pilot has been the subject of abuse after an emergency landing resulted in the deaths of two sunbathers on a Portugese beach.
An eight-year-old girl and 50-year-old man were on the Sao Joao beach on Wednesday afternoon (local time) when the Cessna-152 plane made the crash landing, according to reports.
One witness told local media people were angry at the pilot after the crash.
"Those first moments were very tense," she said.
"People wanted to attack the pilot and began to shout at him that he was a 'killer'. Everyone was really disgusted."
Police were soon called to the scene to calm the mob.
