Walmart has come under fire after an in-store display saw firearms being marketed as back-to-school items.
The photo, which depicted a sign reading "own the school year like a hero", was placed directly above a glass case filled with guns. As expected, the photos made the rounds online.
Walmart has responded to some of the comments, calling the display "truly awful."
As of Wednesday, the company has started work on identifying which of the stores put up the exhibit.
