The police force of Catalonia has confirmed the Barcelona scare was a false alarm.
On Tuesday evening (local time) the landmark Sagrada Familia cathedral was evacuated amid an anti-terror operation.
Several streets were closed off as explosive experts checked a van in the area.
However, Mossos - the official police force in the region - tweeted that the scare was a false alarm, and the situation has returned to normal.
Spain has maintained its anti-terrorism security warning one level below the maximum since the middle of 2015.
