Mexico quake: Frightening video shows building collapsing, factory exploding

Footage of the 7.1-magnitude tremor that has rocked Mexico City shows some of the terrifying scenes in the moments immediately following the quake.

While the head of Mexico's civil protection agency says there are no immediate reports of damage, videos show otherwise.

In one clip, workers in the city's office buildings huddle together along walls and under doorways until they can be confident it is safe to leave.

Work was suspended throughout Mexico City following the shakes.

The quake rocked the city early on Tuesday afternoon, sending people running into the streets on the 32-year anniversary of a major earthquake that killed thousands.

Many locals had only just participated in earthquake drills when the quake occurred, according to reports.
