Las Vegas shooting: Marilou Danley's sisters speak out

  • 05/10/2017

The sisters of Marilou Danley have spoken out about her relationship with Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock in what they say will be their "one and only interview".

Paddock was responsible for Monday night's shooting in Las Vegas that left 59 people dead and 527 injured.

Speaking to 7 News with their faces concealed, the sisters claimed Ms Danley had no idea about the shooting.

They say she arrived in the Philippines two weeks ago without warning after her partner bought her a surprise ticket.

Paddock wired US$100,000 ($140,000) to an account in the Philippines a few days before the attack, it has emerged.

"She didn't even know that she was going to the Philippines until Steve said 'Marilou, I found you a cheap ticket to the Philippines'," they said.

"She was sent away. She was away so that she will not be there to interfere with what he's planning."

Ms Danley has now arrived back into the United States. She will be escorted by the FBI to Las Vegas to be questioned about Mr Paddock's behaviour in the lead up into the shooting.

Her sisters say while she didn't know anything before the shooting she may be the only one that can "put the puzzle pieces together" about why Paddock did what he did.
