A rescue dog has found a new best friend in her adoptive mother's 23-month-old son.

Elizabeth Spence from Manitoba, Canada adopted Nora seven years ago after being abused by a former owner.

Then, nearly two years ago, Elizabeth had her toddler, Archie, and the two have been inseparable ever since.

She has shared dozens of photographs of the duo, explaining how Nora is terrified of "almost everything" except Archie.

"If Archie is having a bath, Nora is lying on the bath mat waiting for him to get out.

"Archie is an extremely laid-back, happy, good-natured baby and all the animals seem to really respond to that, particularly Nora."

The mother-of-three often shares the adorable photographs on her Instagram account, where she has accumulated more than 100,000 followers.

Her family has also adopted two other rescue dogs, and three rescue cats.
