Australian gardener killed by bees

An Australian man has died after being attacked by a swarm of bees.

Steve Tingate was working on a field in the small town of Dunkfeld, Victoria when he was attacked.

A co-worker rushed administered first aid and called an ambulance, but the 27-year-old didn't survive the attack, 7 News reports

Royal Mail Hotel general manager Mark Whitnell, said Mr Tingate was a "much-loved" employee.

Sgt Kelly McNaughton said the tight-knit community is "absolutely devastated".

Police are investigating the death.
