A farmer in England got a shock after finding her seven-month-old trainee sheep dog had herded a small flock of sheep into her house.

The Telegraph reports Rosalyn Edwards was having a quiet evening when she heard strange noises. Upon investigation she discovered that her dog, Rocky, had herded nine sheep into her kitchen.

Apparently Rocky had taken advantage of the back door being left open, and used his training to usher the sheep into Ms Edwards' home.

"My son and husband had gone out into the field, and the gate was left open. Rocky got them out and led them to the house," she told the paper.

"I was in the kitchen and heard a noise. I turned around and the sheep were just standing there. There were about nine of them."

In a video posted on Facebook, Ms Edwards can be seen trying in vain to shoo the sheep out of her home.

The sheep were eventually herded out the front door and to a paddock, but not before leaving a trail of mess throughout the house.

"I thought it was funny at the time, but then there was quite a lot of wee, poo and mud everywhere. It took me a little while to clean it all up."

She says Rocky will be given more training before he's let loose on the sheep again, but he did seem quite proud of himself after the incident.

"He brought a whole new meaning to 'bringing the sheep home'."
