Melbourne police save woman from train with seconds to spare

Melbourne police have been praised for saving a woman from an oncoming train - with just two seconds to spare.

CCTV footage captured the woman trying to cross tracks late at night. She appeared to be drunk and unaware of the approaching train.

A friend tries to try and pull her to safety before police intervene to drag her on to the platform.

The train driver hits the brakes, but could not have stopped in time.

The woman is apparently unhurt, but Victoria Police have told the Herald Sun: "This area is a restricted for access by railway personnel only and the woman has been charged as a result.

"The incident highlights some of the fantastic work performed by PSOs, keeping commuters safe across Melbourne's rail network."

Victoria Police have not revealed the exact date, time or location of the rescue.
