A teacher in Indiana has been charged after students filmed her allegedly cutting a line of cocaine and heroin and snorting it.

Twenty-four-year-old Samantha Cox, an English teacher at Lake Central High School in St John, faces felony drug possession and misdemeanour paraphernalia charges, CBS reports.

Student John Rogers caught her on camera hiding in the corner of the classroom.

"She tried to hide herself," he said. "She wasn't at her desk where we could see her. She was all the way in the corner where she thought we can't see her."

John took the recording straight to the principal, who called the police. Cox was arrested and led off the school grounds in handcuffs.

No students were in the class at the time. Some of them felt sorry for her.

"It is like a serious thing," said student Michael Sanchez.

"A lot of people can get addicted to a lot of things, and something like this is, it's very heartbreaking."

The video soon emerged on social media.
