A woman in the US has fainted seconds after a jury found her guilty of conspiring to murder her ex-husband.

Fox5 reports Diana Lovejoy, 45, was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder in a California court on Monday (local time).

Video shows Ms Lovejoy reacting in shock to the verdict and fainting as subsequent verdicts were read out for her co-conspirator.

Cries could be heard as Ms Lovejoy fainted and law enforcement tried to revive her. She was later taken to hospital.

Ms Lovejoy conspired to kill her ex-husband Greg Mulvihill weeks before she was required to give him US$120,000 following their separation.

Mr Mulvihill was lured to a remote location where Ms Lovejoy's co-conspirator, Weldon McDavid Jr, shot him in the arm.

A jury was quick to find Ms Lovejoy and Mr McDavid guilty, jurors saying that it was easy to piece together what she had planned.

"[Just] because it was a well thought out crime doesn't mean it was a smartly thought out crime," said one juror.
