The Geminids meteor shower has lit up skies across the world.
Stargazers had their cameras out hoping to catch a glimpse of the annual display, caused by an asteroid known as 3200 Patheon.
The meteors can appear anywhere in the sky, but always in a direction away from the constellation of Gemini.
The shower was first noted by astronomers in the 1860s, and is believed to be intensifying every year.
