Twitter users have picked up some interesting patterns in the weather forecast for the United Kingdom.

The Sun reports several users shared a diagram of Storm Caroline on Twitter saying the shape of the storm looks very similar to a penis.

The satellite image from wxcharts.eu was originally posted to Twitter by ITV editor Dan Howells, who was quick to notice the similarities.

"Bloody hell, Surrey's getting f**ked by the weather," he tweeted.

Users were quick to spread the image and show Mr Howells was not the only one who could see the rude shape in the image.

One user summed the picture up simply with a GIF from the series How I Met Your Mother that says "that's a penis".

The UK's official Met Office also received some gentle ribbing with users saying the amber alert warning resembled an elf.

Storm Caroline is predicted to hit the UK on Thursday (local time) and will bring high winds, a sharp drop in temperature and snow to some areas.
