A 28-year-old British man is under police investigation after claiming women love rape and men deserve better pay than women in an unprompted Tinder rant.

Charlie Silcox says he launched the tirade when he noticed that a woman he'd matched with had participated in a feminist protest. He claims it was 4am and he was drunk when he started sending the messages.

They went viral after the recipient posted screenshots of them on Facebook, The Sun reports.

In the messages, he claimed the wage gap between men and women was non-existent and had not once been endorsed by an economist despite "50 percent of English girls seeming to believe in [it]".

Mr Silcox also defended disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, suggesting to his Tinder match that he should get credit for the boost he's given a number of actresses' careers, particularly Angelina Jolie's.

In doing so, he threatened that he and other "woke men" would "walk up behind our girlfriends while they're doing washing up" and "start unconsensually having sex" with them before sending footage of it to other men over the internet.

Mr Silcox admitted to youth news site The Tab that unconsensual sex was still rape, but in his messages said it was only rape for "about eight seconds" because "after that, she loves it".

He said about 15 percent of women orgasm during rape, but couldn't cite a source for that statistic.

Police are now investigating the messages, according to The Sun.
