One enterprising young Girl Scout has sold a phenomenal 300 boxes of cookies in six hours by setting up shop outside a marijuana dispensary.

The Girl Scout and her father took their merchandise along to Urbn Leaf, a San Diego marijuana dispensary, on Friday morning (local time).

Urbn Leaf posted a photo on Instagram of the girl holding five boxes of cookies.

"Get some Girl Scout Cookies with your GSC today until 4 pm! Have a friend that wants to #tagalong? Bring them with - shopping is more fun with friends anyways," the company wrote in the caption.

GSC refers to a marijuana product flavoured like Girl Scout cookies.

In 2014, Girl Scouts of America stated girls were not permitted to sell cookies outside marijuana dispensaries. However, chief communications officer told the LA Times each region decides how the cookie programme is run.

San Diego legalised marijuana in September 2017.
