A 20-year-old Neo-Nazi has been found guilty of planning a terror attack at a LGBT+ pride event.
On June 23 2017, Ethan Stables was caught as he was on his way to the event venue - a pub in Barrow, United Kingdom.
Prosecutors said he travelled there to "take photographs [and do] reconnaissance of that public house with a view to launching an attack later that evening,” reported the Independent.
He had visited the venue previously to take a photo of himself holding a machete outside the pub's rainbow flags.
While he was initially arrested for death threats, the charge was changed to preparing a terrorist act.
Police had been informed of Stables' intentions by a member of an extreme right-wing Facebook account where Stables had shared his plans to "slaughter every single one of the gay bastards" in what he described as "war".
"I've had enough, I don't want to live in a gay world and I sure as hell don't want my children living in one," Stables wrote.
"What happened to our traditional qualities? They're f***ing ruined. I don't care if I die, I'm fighting for what I believe in and that is the future of my country, my folk and my race."
Police found a rifle, machete, and axe in his home, as well as a large Nazi swastika flag.
The jury saw evidence including footage of Stables burning a rainbow flag while saying "gays look nicer on fire".
According to the Independent, Stables was unemployed, kicked out of home, and expelled from school for putting another student in a headlock.
He described himself as a "nationalist" and frequently shared homophobic, racist, Nazi views online.
His search history included banned neo-Nazi terrorist organisation Combat 18, "race war" preparation, how to carry out a killing spree, "how to be a terrorist", "what is prison like for a murderer", bomb-making techniques, information on the Columbine High School massacre, as well as graphic footage of terror attacks, torture, massacres, and executions.
Stables will be sentenced on Wednesday (local time).
