Dashcam footage captured by an Australian man shows why it's really dumb to be on your phone when driving.
Sydney man Adrian Hastwell-Batten was driving through heavy rain in Southern Queensland last week when he accidentally drove into a flooded river.
He was on the phone at the time, recounting his misfortune to his friend in real time.
"I've just f**king crashed into a river dude," he told the person he calling.
After a few choice words he managed to climb out of the window and onto the roof where he waited until a rescue crew arrived.
He was on the vehicle's roof for about an hour before being retrieved by a water rescue team.
