Two Australian women have been caught on camera screaming racial abuse at a woman riding the train near them.

The pair were on a train in Melbourne on March 27 when they began shouting at a Filipina woman known only as Mila, news.com.au reports.

Mila says she noticed the girls staring at her after she had been coughing from time to time - and when she asked them to stop, they started shouting.

"So what, who gives a f**k? Make me shut up, b**ch. I ain't gonna shut up," one young woman said.

"I ain't never gonna shut up, c**t. What are you going to do? Go back to your own f***ing country."

The other girl on the train also told Mila to leave Australia, firing a pointed slur in her direction.

"F**k you, you motherf***ing curry muncher," she said.

"I don't know you, you don't know me... It's my country, it's not your f***ing country."

The abuse ended when three women moved to sit next to Mila and pressed the emergency button to alert staff to the situation.

Protective safety officers were waiting for the girls at a stop in Melbourne's south-east but they fled, and are yet to come forth.

Mila, who has been a resident in Australia since 1985, told news.com.au she isn't worried about seeing them again, but wants them to know what they said was unacceptable.

"I just want them to know they can't act like that," she said.

"They have to stop doing it. That behaviour is disgusting."
