A 5.3-magnitude earthquake has struck near the Channel Islands, with shaking felt across Los Angeles.
The quake struck just before 12:00pm on Thursday (local time), 78km off the Californian coast at a depth of 16km.
It was initially reported as a magnitude 5.0 before being upgraded.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
