A 72-year-old woman has admitted to finding "true love" with her 19 year old husband of two years.
Almeda Errell met Gary Hardwick while at a birthday party at US restaurant chain Chuck-E-Cheese, The Daily Mail reports.
Mr Hardwick proposed just two weeks into the relationship, and the pair soon married in a US$200 (NZ$272) ceremony.
"A lot of people wait years to get married and everyone has different opinions on getting married quickly," Mr Hardwick told the Daily Mail.
"But we knew we were in love, so I jumped on that."
Not everyone is accepting of their relationship; Ms Errell's son stopped speaking to her after the relationship began, and her 22-year-old grandson Aaron Elliot admits he had a hard time coming around to it.
"I only called him grandfather once and it was when I was drunk," he told the Daily Mail.
"In my head, I see him as a friend more than a grandfather. But you know, our grandmother is happy.'
The couple did not consummate their relationship until their wedding night and Mr Hardwick says it was an "amazing experience".
"There was such a deep connection there. She's a wonderful lover," he told the Daily Mail.
Ms Errell believes she will be with Mr Hardwick for the rest of her life, having previously been with her last husband for 43 years before he died due to complications from diabetes.
