An Australian man who was stabbed outside a pub went back inside for one last pint with the knife still lodged in his back, Queensland Police say.

The incident happened in the aptly named Sunshine Coast town of Beerwah on Saturday night.

Police say two men, aged 20 and 27, started brawling at the Beerwah Hotel before being kicked out and continuing the fight outside the pub.

The 20-year-old then allegedly stabbed the 27-year-old in the back, according to Queensland Police.

But instead of calling an ambulance, the stabbed man went back inside the bar and kept drinking with the knife still lodged in his back, police say.

The beer-loving stabbing victim then eventually called police and was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
