A 65-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly slapped a waitress on the bottom in New York.
Police have charged Clarence Locke Jr with forcible touching, and he could face up to a year in jail.
Locke Jr had just arrived at the Denny's restaurant with his wife when she went to use a bathroom. While she was gone, 23-year-old waitress Jayme Adair went over to take a drinks order from Locke. But as she walked away, Locke allegedly leaned over and smacked her on her behind.
Ms Adair reported the incident to her manager, who told the man to leave, police said.
"The customer and his wife came in together. I didn't recognise him by his face, but when he walked in he said, 'Hello Jayme,'" Ms Adair told media.
"As I went over to take his order he reached as far as he could just to reach me and smack my butt pretty hard.
"I froze up. It was degrading and embarrassing, and completely out of the blue."
The shocking incident was caught on CCTV, and police were able to identify and locate Locke Jr shortly afterwards.
"I was in shock. I have never had anything like that happen to me before," Ms Adair said.
"So many women go through this and it is not fair. I did nothing wrong and I did not deserve that."
