Video of an elderly man violently hitting his granddaughter over the head then dragging her out of a bubble tea store has sparked an outcry in China.
The man had reportedly tried to force his way past people to pay for their drinks.
After the cashier refused to serve them first, the girl insisted on queuing.
Witnesses say the grandfather took this as a sign of disrespect and a sign the girl was misbehaving.
Footage from witnesses shows the grandfather violently hitting the girl before dragging her roughly by the arm.
Kan Kan news in China reported witnesses tried to persuade the cashier to allow the pair to jump the queue.
The video was uploaded to Chinese video site Miaopai on Sunday.
It's not known where in China it was filmed.
