30yo man who refused to leave home calls cops on his parents

A 30-year-old man who made headlines worldwide after refusing to leave home has finally packed his bags - but not without drama.

New York man Michael Rotondo was ordered to get his own place by a judge in May, after his parents had tried and failed to kick him out for months.

Mr Rotondo left it to the figurative last minute, vacating his parents' place only hours before the court-imposed deadline was up, NBC reported.

It took 15 minutes for his cousin's station wagon to start, before they drove the unwillingly emancipated Mr Rotondo to a place he booked on Airbnb.

"I gotta get going before that thing blows up," he told local reporters.

But later that day he called the police on his own father, the Daily Mail reports, because he wasn't allowed back in to collect look for his missing Lego pieces, which he thinks are in the basement.

"This isn't a game show," he told the paper. "I don't have to guess what's behind door number one."

Mr Rotondo said the Lego belonged to his son. They were later found after police arrived.

Last week controversial InfoWars host Alex Jones gave Mr Rotondo US$3000 to help him start his new life.

"I'm not trying to be condescending. The media made you the ultimate demon in the world - both liberal and conservative media," Jones told him.

"Even the left that pushes dependency and paying for people's anchor babies and sex change operations... What I am saying is, this whole millennial thing... being afraid of change - I think you are indicative of that."
