Two women have been caught brawling in a road rage incident at the drop-off zone of a Sydney school.

The Australian police and government are urging drivers to control their tempers.

On Tuesday morning outside Mount Pritchard school the two women were filmed punching each other and pulling each other's hair, with one woman pinning the other to the ground.

The fight took place in the view of young students, and didn't end until a man stopped his car and rushed over to pull them apart.

He said one of the women was calling out for help.

The incident is said to have started after one woman drove into the back of the other's car.

Police are investigating and told Channel 7 fighting in public is a serious offence and the women should hand themselves in.
