An innocuous photo of Angela Merkel at a local kindergarten has proven rather embarrassing for the German Chancellor, after the internet noticed it featured a pair of kids' toys in a compromising position.
Ms Merkel was clad in a royal blue ensemble as she met with children and staff at a kindergarten in Cologne, west Germany - but what was a chance for her to show off her nurturing side quickly became an embarrassing photo opportunity.
As it turns out, someone had placed two teddy bears in a position reflecting a sex act behind her.
While most children wouldn't understand the connotation of the bears' positioning, the internet has had a field day pointing the toys out.
The image is unlikely to ruffle Ms Merkel, which is perhaps fortunate as she comes under increased pressure to restrict immigration in Germany.
Last week, US President Donald Trump added to that pressure by warning Ms Merkel that Germany needs to "watch themselves", as he lay the blame of terror attacks in Europe on its nations' immigration policies.
