Finland trolls US President Donald Trump ahead of Vladimir Putin summit

US President Donald Trump is about to touch down in Helsinki, Finland for a landmark one-on-one summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

And as he drives through the streets of the Finnish capital in his impregnable US $1.5m Cadillac Beast, he may well see some not-so-subtle 'reminders' out the window.

"Mr President, welcome to the land of free press" reads a huge billboard at the arrivals terminal at the airport. There's also one stretching three-stories down the  side of the headquarters of local paper Helsingin Sanomat.

The paper has also erected numerous other smaller banners around the city, including one on a bus stop that says "Trump calls media enemy of the people".

If he drives past clothing chain Finlayson, there's a message waiting for him there too, including one about gender equality that uses his wife Melania.

"Welcome to Finland, President Trump," it reads.

"We are slightly worried. The goal of politics is to make the world as good as possible. For everyone. Please, make good decisions".

It finishes with another dig in the footnote: "P.S. Since we consider all people equal, the First Lady gets the same discount as everybody else. Welcome!"

The President is unlikely to go to the pub while in Helsinki for the summit (and he's also teetotal) so he's unlikely to see a special commemorative beer.

'Let's Settle This Like Adults' is a dry-hopped lager with a 4.7 percent alcohol content made by a microbrewery called Rock Paper Scissors based 400 kilometres north of Helsinki in a town called Kuopio.

The label depicts presidents Trump and Putin in the midst of a game of paper-scissors-rock.

Brewery chief executive Samuli Huuhtanen says they decided to make the beer even though both presidents don't drink beer.

"Naturally we don't offer this as a first solution for problem solving, but if there is a danger of a dead end, this is a guaranteed way to solve issues," he says.

The brewery has also released a limited edition coffee with the same theme, for those who really don't want a beer.
