Perth teenage murder accused had been turned away from hospital - report

The teenager believed to be behind the deaths of a Kiwi woman and two of her children had reportedly been turned away from hospital before the killings.

Teancum Vernon Petersen-Crofts, 19, is said to have arrived at St John of God Midland public hospital in a "psychotic state" on Saturday evening, but was turned away after police became involved, Fairfax reports.

It's believed it was decided Petersen-Crofts' erratic behaviour was not a medical problem.

He was then taken to a home on Brixton Crescent, just hours before three people were found dead on Sunday morning.

Petersen-Crofts had asked a convenience store shop keeper to call emergency services around 1:30am on Sunday.

When officers arrived he directed them to the home where they made the gruesome discovery. A homicide detective said it was potentially the most horrific crime scene he'd ever been called to.

Scissors were found in a bush close to the home and taken away for forensic testing.

A neighbour told Fairfax there had often been loud arguments in the home and police were frequently called to the house for domestic disputes.

"He's got mental issues and but there's such a long wait on the public health system," the neighbour told Fairfax.

Police confirmed they had been called to the address on Friday evening.

St John of God Midland Public Hospital and the East Metropolitan Health Service said they could not comment on the incident.
