Not everyone in the UK is happy about the national football team's success, with one person getting roasted on live radio for saying the squad is too "multi-racial" for his liking.

England beat Sweden 2-0 in the early hours of Sunday morning (NZ time) to progress to the semi-final of the FIFA Football World Cup.

It is the first time the English team has made the semi-finals since 1992.

With it being a Saturday night game in the UK and the country being in the middle of a heatwave, you can bet the celebrating went long in to the night.

Not for one person called Ian, who phoned LBC radio station and said he "totally disapproves" of Britain's multiracial society, and that the England team "doesn't represent" him.

"In fact, it represents everything I'm against," he told LBC.

He also said that there were "far too many" black people on television.

Presenter Kevin Maguire took him to task: "What, because you're so obsessed by race and your bigotry, and your prejudice is so poisonous you want England to lose?

"I'm going to give you a nice friendly bit of advice.

"I'd just go and make yourself a nice cup of tea, take it into a darkened room, get a bag of frozen peas from the freezer and put them on your head.

"And just reflect on what you're saying."
