A US nurse has been forced to undergo multiple tests for HIV after she was spat on by an HIV positive patient.
Montel Dewaun Minor, 28 told the nurse to "taste the last kiss of death" after the incident, which took place in an Alabama ER on June 11, Tuscaloosa News reports.
The report filed by Northport Police does not state why Minor was at hospital.
While he was there he "became belligerent and combative, and had to be physically restrained in order to receive the treatment," according to the report.
Minor managed to raise himself from the gurney and spit at the nurse. His saliva came into contact with her nose, mouth and face.
HIV is not transmissible via saliva, but Metro.co.uk reports the nurse underwent decontamination procedures anyway.
She has since tested negative for the virus and will have to be tested again in six months.
